We are incredibly proud of KRCS junior Finnegan Gawley, who was invited to speak at the International Dyslexia Association’s National Conference in Atlanta! This year’s opening session, themed Through My Lens, featured a panel of speakers sharing their personal journeys in a podcast-style format.

During the session, panelists reflected on the realities of living with dyslexia, sharing stories of both challenges and accomplishments. Finnegan, the youngest speaker in attendance, spoke about his own experiences from a high school student’s perspective, offering an inspiring narrative of his transition from shame and confusion to self-acceptance and confidence. He also emphasized the importance of supportive teachers, structured instruction, and advocacy, including his role as a member of the IDA Teen Board. Joining Finnegan was his childhood tutor, Ann Marie Lewis, who tutored at KRCS for many years and is also a KR alumni parent!

We commend Finnegan for using his voice to raise awareness and bring focus to the mission of the International Dyslexia Association. To learn more about the International Dyslexia Association, visit https://ga.dyslexiaida.org/.
