Fine Arts Academy

Claire Burns (violin, piano), Jenny Piacente (voice, piano), Annie Dietz (Dance) and Kathy Winchell (acting for stage and screen) now invest in over 80 KRCS students on-campus with private and group instruction. In addition, KRCS partnered with Atlanta Academy of Vocal Arts for Upper School vocal students who won three State Championship Literary titles (Girls Solo and Trio) and State Runner-Up (Quartet) as well as GHSA Region Literary Champion 2018.

In anticipation of the demand, Rooted Music will partner with KRCS to expand the offerings to include guitar and piano.

The KRCS Fine Arts Academy also offers group training in art, drama and chorus. Jennifer Barrett, KRCS Lower School teacher, offers visual art classes. Christian Youth Theater (CYT) and the Greater Atlanta Girls' Choir hold weekly after school programs at KRCS as well as summer camps.

At the end of each semester, students are encouraged to perform for a jury panel of music faculty. This should reflect work done in their private lessons through the Academy. Juries are meant to replicate college auditions. In the spring, a recital is held for all private students wanting to perform.
Private on-campus instruction for the KRCS Fine Arts Academy began in 2016 with the goal to offer KRCS students the opportunity to develop their gifts and talents guided by faculty mentors.
