We're excited to welcome back one of our own to King's Ridge Christian School! Bob Martin, who coached the Tigers to two state finals and our first state championship in 2023, is returning as our new Director of Basketball Operations and Director of Youth Athletic Development. Coach Martin succeeds Coach Brian Marks, who is leaving KRCS to pursue a new opportunity and to join his family in this next chapter.
Coach Martin brings over 25 years of coaching experience at the high school and college levels. He has coached at Indiana schools, including Muncie Burris, Concord, Indianapolis Roncalli, Elkhart Memorial, and Hamilton High School. At Glynn Academy in Georgia, he led the Red Terrors to three region titles. At the College of Coastal Georgia, he guided the women's team to a top-15 national ranking and its best record to date.
Most recently, Coach Martin led Calvary Day School to a 23-win season and a region championship. He also guided Pickens High School to its best record, including an undefeated regular season and a Sweet 16 appearance.
As Director of Youth Athletic Development, Coach Martin will oversee our Lower School athletic programs. He will help foster a Christ-centered, team-oriented environment where students can develop skills, build confidence, and discover a passion for sports.
As Director of Basketball Operations, Coach Martin brings championship experience to our Tiger programs. He is recognized for developing players and building a strong team culture. He will lead both the boys' and girls' basketball programs and play a key role in hiring our next girls' varsity head basketball coach. Previously at King's Ridge, Coach Martin also taught Christian Education and Public Speaking.
Coach Martin and his wife, Shawn, have three children: Isaac (KRCS Class of '23), Bella, and Jamin, who will be a senior at KRCS next year.
