3rd and 4th Grade Art Club
Class Description: Our afternoon art program builds on skills learned throughout the year in art class here at King’s Ridge Christian School. Students will use a variety of different art mediums as we explore different art methods which reinforce the principles and elements of art. We will be focusing on drawing and painting as well as sculpture and 3D art projects using various hand building skills with clay and mixed media.

3rd/4th Grade Chorus  
Class Description:
3rd/4th Grade Chorus is the premier performing arts ensemble for KRCS Lower School students. Chorus is open to any eligible 3rd/4th grade student interested in singing and performing in a formal setting. There is no audition requirement. Sign up forms will be distributed via their weekly music class.
Cost: There is no fee.

Greater Atlanta Girls’ Choir for 3rd - 12th Grade
Class Description:
The Greater Atlanta Girls’ Choir (GAGC) is based in Alpharetta, Georgia and serves girls grades 3 – 12. GAGC strives to build girls’ confidence, self-esteem, and lifelong love of music through exposure to challenging, multi-cultural choral music; positive role models; and production of high quality performances for local, national, and international communities. The choirs of GAGC perform a wide-ranging repertoire, led by a passionate staff who are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for girls to experience the transformative power of music. Come sing with us!

STEAM for Girls Club for 3rd and 4th Grade Girls
Class Description:
STEM careers are some of the fastest growing industries in America, but they also have some of the largest gender gaps. The goal of the STEAM for Girls Club is to build confidence and interest in these fields.  Participants will study a variety of topics and our work will be both inside the science lab and around campus.  Engaging and hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) investigations, projects, and games will enrich concepts the students are learning in homeroom classes. Creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills will be at the core of every activity. Come join other like-minded girls to explore STEAM in a fun and informal small-group setting. Enrollment - minimum 6 students, maximum 10 students.

Spanish Club for 1st - 4th Grade
Class Description: 10 full immersion Spanish classes coupled with games, songs, dancing and cultural activities. Students will have a chance to act out skits in Spanish that assist in building Spanish vocabulary and conversational skills.  Each student will be engaged in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.  Students will learn content information useful for traveling abroad.  Spanish club will end with a fiesta that includes dancing, a pinata, churros and a typical dish.  Great class for new students who have not previously taken Spanish.

Dance - Ballet/Jazz Combo for K - 4th Grade 
Class Description: This hybrid class merges the structured technical foundation of ballet and the energetic, fun style of jazz. Since ballet is the best foundation for a dancer, each class will begin with ballet barre exercises to strengthen and train muscles. Classical ballet technique and terminology will be taught both through center floor and across the floor combinations and exercises. After the ballet portion, dancers will enjoy upbeat jazz choreography set to popular music. This is a great class for those new to dance and those that wish to polish their technique. Minimum Class Size: 8 - Max Class Size: 15

Attire for Girls: Black leotard, pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes, black jazz shoes, black dance skirt and ballet sweater (optional). Hair should be worn in a bun.
Attire for Boys: Close-fitting black t-shirt, black athletic shorts, black ballet shoes, and black zip-up jacket (optional). Headbands can be worn to keep longer hair away from the face.
Performance Opportunities:  Black & White Gala April 25th and Lower School Chapel in May (exact date TBD)
Location: Students will attend After Care at 2:50 PM for a snack (provided) and then change into dance attire. They will be shuttled to the Student Center for class in the new dance studio at 3:20 PMStudents can be picked up from the Student Center at 5:00 PM.


Bricks Challenge for 1st - 4th Grade
Class Description: The objective of the program is to introduce students to theoretical and practical aspects in the fields of technology, software engineering, math and entrepreneurship. Robo Bricks uses LEGO WeDo graphic programming. During each lesson, students build a robot using LEGO parts and program it according to the required functionality. Using algorithmic methods, students work together to create a successful project. Click here for more information.
